365 project: days 317 – 328
Lots has gone on lately, and I am behind with this post, so I will keep this update short. In terms of this update, well we now have a baby who climbs the stairs, we also had her christened and the Christmas tree has gone up (yes in November, deal with it!).
317: The little one, as she is now affectionately known, is like a rocket around the house. In contrast to her big sister who was a lazy little road when she was a baby, this one can’t seem to sit still for more than thirty seconds! Now she’s discovered that we have stairs… and she can climb them!
318: That stair gate has got to stay shut… this stairs adventure is now becoming a daily feature, and she’s getting a little braver with each attempt!
319: Finally we get Chloe christened, and I guess for me there is a sense of relief that my suit actually fitted. There was a sense of dread with booking the christening, that on top of all the other costs, I’d have to include the cost of a brand new suit. Thankfully that wasn’t the case, and we enjoyed a fantastic day surrounded by people that we care about. Its just a shame that we couldn’t invite everyone that we wanted to as we had to limit the numbers.
320: Well, I totally failed to get a photo for the day after the christening! Some days its harder than others to get a photo, and some days its hard just to remember! Damn it! Instead here’s a photo of me and my beautiful niece from the christening. We don’t have many photos together and this is a lovely one that more than makes up for it!
321: Off camera flash, something I like to play around with from time to time. Its best when its subtle, and can make a big difference even just in photos around the home. Chloe is proving to be a much more energetic toddler than her big sister was. She can’t help but stand up at every opportunity and loves to be on the move. Olivia wasn’t walking until 15 months, but at just 10 months there is no way Chloe will take that long!
322: My two little princesses. Yes, my world revolves around these two, and how cute do they look together?!
323: The simple pleasures in life… Its not often we keep biscuits in the house, mostly because neither of us have the will power to know when to stop, and custard creams are my weakness! Thankfully the wife was in the mood to treat us today, and boy was I grateful!
324: Friday night in alone, the wife is out with friends, so its time for a beer and a film whilst keeping an eye on the sleeping beauties upstairs.
325: Its our antenatal christmas meet up day. The last two years we’ve made it out for a carvery, but this year someone decided to book the theatre, and so we took all the little ones to see a production of The Stick Man, by the creators of the Gruffalo. The show was a little bizarre, but the kids seemed to love it, and we followed it up with lunch at a nearby pub restaurant where the kids enjoyed their secret santa presents!
326: Its the last Sunday in November, and in a break from tradition we are feeling rather festive at this point and decide to put the tree up early. Normally we wait until the first Sunday in December, but I think we’re starting to feel the festive fun a little more now that Olivia is old enough to understand christmas and the whole santa thing. We seem to have developed a tradition of me helping Olivia to put the star on the tree, and had to get the classic photo!
327: Out come all the decorations, including our little “sleeps until christmas” counter! The tree is up and we’re still four weeks from christmas… too early?
328: Photos always become tricky to find when the nights get dark early in the afternoon. Its almost impossible to get any outdoor shots when you have a full time 9-5 job! So what do I remember this time of year for, well the lovely christmas tree is a start. Not the real pine tree that I was hoping for, but we just couldn’t be sure of how much attention Chloe would pay to the tall green thing in the corner of the room that had suddenly appeared in the room and had shiny metal things hanging all over it!
