“Show me the money!”
Today has been mostly about the money, but not in a bad way. I’ll be honest, today has been mostly about family, my little family. I started the day with a 6 mile run around the reservoir with a friend who is training for her first half marathon and needed some support. It was a beautiful sunny start to the day, and there is no better way to start the weekend than with a good run in the sunshine!
Then it was time to go out with the wife and daughter, we had made plans to visit the Kiddiacare store in Merry Hill, which we knew was closing down, although we didn’t expect to see much there, and as it happens, once we pulled up in the car park, people were literally piling out with trolleys full of stuff. The only thing we were really interested in was a car seat for Olivia as she has now outgrown her baby seat! We’d seen one online and at £80 reduced to £60 we figured it was a bargain… only to find that this particular one was piled up next to the entrance priced at just £30! Winner!! If we’d bought it online, we’d never have got that price! There wasn’t much left to look at, as it was either for babies or children, not the toddler stage that Olivia is at. So with it being lunchtime we headed over to Frankie & Benny’s to feed Olivia and treat ourselves to lunch having saved so much on the car seat!
From lunch we headed over to a store with a different future, it was the opening of a new toy store in a nearby retail park… and it was chaos! Anyone would think they were giving the toys away or free! We had one goal in mind here too, which was her first birthday present, a trike with adult steering which will fit from now up until she is three years old. We stopped off to pick up a few bits for her birthday party, paper plates and the like before heading home.
Now its time to spend a bit more money, but this time behind a few of the city centre bars as I finally get to head out with some friends for a long awaited night out!
