“If you are losing faith in human nature, go out and watch a marathon.”
Started the day with a 6 mile run around the local reservoir with my old school friend and regular running buddy Rob. It was a glorious start to the day, the sun was shining, the sky was clear and the temperature was still cool but rising nicely. Its a great way to start the day, and I managed to pull a photo out of the bag for today before I left the reservoir to head home. After a shower and a change of clothes we were out of the door to visit Clare’s brother and spend a few hours there having some food and drink in the garden, sat out in the sun! The afternoon was really warming up and it was a great day to be sat out on the lawn. After leaving the brother-in-law’s we were off to visit my nan, who is now no longer in hospital and is finally home. She is getting help in at home to make sure she takes all her tablets and gets to eat regularly, but is still on her feet and wanting to keep her independence. Sadly its becoming fairly evident that as old age digs its heels in, she is struggling to remember more and more. Still, it was lovely to see her and for Olivia to spend some time with her great grandmother. She’s in reasonable health, but none of us know how long we have before we shuffle off this mortal coil, so I like Olivia to see her great grandmother whenever we get the chance, and always take photos of the two of them together!
We eventually had to leave to head home and get our little lady ready for bed, which included a bath and a bottle, and did the trick and in a short space of time as she was soon asleep in her cot! What a fantastic baby we have! We finished the night off with a bit of Jimmy Carr on the tv and a beer in my hand (again!), while Clare opted for a few chocolates.
