“A daughter is a day brightener and a heart warmer.”
Last night felt really good being able to turn the alarm clock off, a week off work and the chance for a lie in if Olivia will allow it. After her morning feed, Olivia went back to sleep, so there was a chance of a little extra sleep… that was until the Asda delivery turned up early! This week, we decided against the regular shop, and ordered online, and even though we had to get up early to take the order, it was still more of a lie in than a regular monday and we had to get up and make a start on the day anyway. It was certainly preferable to trying to squeeze the shopping in this evening! Later on that morning, the wife was off shopping with her mother while I stayed at home and looked after the little one. As the door closed, I realised how long it had been since I was left alone with Olivia, and for a few seconds it felt a bit daunting, but then I realised… its only a baby, she can’t go anywhere and only needs milk, a wash, and clean clothes. It was easy, of course, but it didn’t stop me from worrying for those few seconds after the wife left and the front door closed.
Before I knew it, it was dinner time again and the wife had brought a home made lasagne with her from the mother in law, which saved cooking and gave us time to put a film on, one recommended from a friend, Magnolia, which to be honest, although it got a good review seemed a little bonkers and crazy! It was also 3hrs long, the wife was never going to stay awake through a 3 hr film, but I hadn’t realised this until after we started watching. It was one of those films that was a little hard going, and when you got to the end, made you question whether or not it was actually worth it! Till it gave me the chance to keep Olivia up and try to delay her last feed of the day to see if there was event the smallest chance of her sleeping through the night. Fingers crossed, here goes!
