Day 233/365

D-day

due date

Essentially today has many names, but “baby’s birthday” will not be one of them. The day has passed without as much as a twinge! Its fair to say we will definitely not be making a dash for the hospital tonight. What we did do instead, was to go out for lunch together to keep ourselves busy and not be sitting around the house just waiting. After lunch we decided to head to the cinema, and upon my recommendation we went to see Elysium, which was quite a good film. There was a lot of action and fighting and shooting, which normally isn’t the wife’s thing, but she seemed to enjoy it too, much to my relief! After dinner I caught up with some friends, as I often do on a wednesday night, I thought not being at home might jinx things and start the baby moving, but no such luck! I think we have longer left than i’d hoped for. With up to two weeks allowed after the due date, even with six weeks off during the summer, I could well be back at work before baby makes their appearance!!
