Day 120/365

“I shall allow no man to belittle my soul by making me hate him.”

A gorgeous day to cycle to work and another great run on the treadmill set me up for a good start to the day. Some people insist on trying to ruin it though, they just don’t know when to keep their mouth shut! Still, the last Tuesday night of the month means pad work in the Jujitsu dojo and the chance to unleash all my negative energy with kicks, elbow and punches on the pads! Man, that felt good. I missed a gorgeous sunset on the way home, but did manage to capture these horses even though the light was failing fast!

Day 119/365

“A willing heart adds feather to the heel.”

Monday morning lands with a crash again, but after a 7 mile cycle to work followed by a 3 mile run on the treadmill when I got there, I sudden find a new lease of energy and the day isnt so bad after all!

Delicious leftover lasagne for tea, now off out shopping with the wife!

Day 118/365

“Weekends are a bit like rainbows; they look good from a distance but disappear when you get up close to them.”

Sunday night steams towards us like a train towards a broken down car on a level crossing, there’s no escaping it! Had a lovely Saturday photographing a friends wedding, and a busy Sunday taking rubbish from the new house to the tip before meeting up with friends for a late lunch. Ribs followed by cheesecake with a beer or two to wash it down, perfect! Time to make lunch for tomorrow, the start of another week approaches!

Day 117/365

“I love people for giving me their time. It’s a privilege – I make the most of it.”

To photograph anyones wedding is a privilege, but to photograph a friends is a true honour. Today I got to cover the wedding of Aaron and my good friend Vicki who made one of the most beautiful brides I have had the pleasure to photograph. They make a wonderful couple and I wish them all the happiness for their future life together!

Day 116/365

“Inside of every problem lies an opportunity.”

I managed to take this photo when the opportunity arose, as I knew when I saw it that it would make a great picture. This also marks a landmark in my 365, as it is the first picture I have taken and included from my iPhone. As the quote says, the best camera is the one thats with you!

Glad its Friday, we had our kitchen designer round to go over our new kitchen requirements, although truth be told, i’m a little nervous at how much the price is going to come back at when he posts the quote to us! Its exactly what we want and I would hate to have to reconsider based on price!

Need to get some clothes ironed and my alarm set for the morning as I have the privilege of photographing the wedding of my good friend Vicki and her husband to be, Aaron. Just hope the weather is on our side, can’t wait!!

Day 115/365

“The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.”

Took a visit to the new house this evening to inspect the new heating and was pleased to see it all in place and ready to go. There was a bit of a mess where pipes and tanks had been taken out, but it is a work in progress. Had a friend round to advise us on life insurance too, which we need to get in place soon. Next job pending is rewiring! The next thing I can actually do is empty the car and get several loads of old carpet and broken down cupboards to the tip!

Day 114/365

“Thinking is more interesting than knowing, but less interesting than looking.”

Middle of the week, and a sense of sudden awareness at how quickly the weeks roll around starts to sink in. Time gets faster as you get older is a quote I have heard many times, and one that begins to ring true in recent times! This house, as much as it seems to drag, will be ready in no time at all, and junior will be here and costing us a small fortune in new clothes before we know it! I guess I have to make the most of opportunities like today, where on my way over to my friends house I can just pull over at the side of the road and start photographing things that interest me, just because I can! The thing with starting a 365 project is that having to take a photo every day puts you under a little bit of pressure until you’ve nailed that shot, it makes you look at things and see opportunities that you wouldn’t have spotted before. The world suddenly becomes a more beautiful place!
